Shaykh Muhammad Fathi Hijazi is of the senior most scholars in Cairo. He is the head of the department of language at the grand Azhar university and lectures at various venues in and around Cairo.
Shaykh Fathi spent approximately 10 years at the feet of the late Shaykh Salih Ja’fari, whom he dearly loves and often mentions during his discourses at the Azhar Mosque. The Shaykh lectures in the main area of the Azhar mosque on Thursdays and Saturdays for approximately 1.5 hours after the dhuhr prayer.
On Thursdays the Shaykh lectures on three texts including a commentary on the Qasida Burdah, Sahih Bukhari and reads from the biography of the blessed Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). On Saturdays the Shaykh reads on grammar, rhetoric and comments on the 99 most beautiful names of Allah (Most Merciful).
Like all the classes at the Azhar mosque, Shaykh Fathi’s sessions are open for males and females and there are absolutely no charges for the classes.
